JOB DESCRIPTION
Project title: Role of the deep biosphere in nutrient and energy cycles.
The research project: This post doc stipend is available to study next generation nucleic acid sequencing data sets of the microbial communities in the deep biosphere. The aim is to understand the structure and function of the communities, their activities, and ability to change to an alteration in their environment.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants should have a PhD with an emphasis in bioinformatics. Documented evidence of research in metagenomic and metatranscriptomic analyses will place the candidate at an advantage.
The Post Doc stipend will be tax free, paid directly to the beneficiary from the funding organization, and will be for a period of one year. Continuation for a second year will be dependent on sufficient progress and a successful application to the granting body. The starting date will be as soon as possible after the funding body approves the candidate. The position is located in Kalmar, Sweden.
