| Dear Friends and Colleagues, It is a great pleasure to welcome you to theHybridSymposium “Targeting Homologous Recombination Deficiency in Cancer: From Bench to Clinic 2023” that will be held on 19 & 20 December 2023 at the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens. The Symposium aims to bring together invited speakers, from Greece and abroad, covering a wide range of expertise, including clinical and laboratory medical disciplines, basic scientists, diagnostics experts, as well as the private sector. This 2-day event will address the present and future of the emerging field of homologous recombination-mediated repair of DNA double strand breaks.During the Symposium, we will discuss the basic biology aspects of DNA damage response, and particularly homologous recombination, the development of inhibitors exploiting synthetic lethality, current and emerging methodologies for identifying homologous recombination deficiency for patient stratification, and the possible expansion of the clinical use of these inhibitors to other indications. Scientists, clinicians, students and health care professionals of any level interested in the field of DNA repair are welcome. Warm regards, The Organizing Committee |
